SUMMARY:Technology Workshop for Older Adults - Getting Help with Technology
DESCRIPTION:Local Immigration Partnership – Lanark & Renfrew is pleased to offer members of our communities a series of technology workshops throughout January\, February and March thanks to our partnership with United Way East Ontario and partial funding received by the New Horizons for Seniors Program.  \nThanks to this program and a newly formed connection with Ottawa-based organization\, Connected Canadians\, we are so excited to be offering 6 virtual workshops to any older adults looking to feel more confident using technology and overcoming technology challenges. \nConnected Canadians is a registered charity founded in Ottawa 2018 which focuses on reducing isolation and loneliness among older adults by promoting digital literacy and inclusion through a customized\, person-centered learning approach. Volunteers with high tech comfort levels are paired with senior clients to tackle technology challenges together. \n  \n \nIn this session\, learn how to troubleshoot your personal device\, locate and know your device information\, search for the right information\, and get help online when you are stuck. Receive in-person support from dedicated Connected Canadian team members and feel confident navigating different ways to best use your device. \n  \nPlease register by emailing the below information to localimmigrationpartnership@algonquincollege.com \n\nName:\nWorkshop title: Getting Help with Technology\nDevice type:\nAccommodations needed:\n\n  \n  \nBy participating in this workshop\, you are eligible for free ongoing support from the Connected Canadians team!
