DESCRIPTION:From the 15th to the 30th of June\, the Petawawa Public Library has four activities for the community to engage in: \n\nWelcome Rock Painting: Painted rocks are all the rage right now! The idea behind these Welcome Rocks is that community members can decorate them using the Welcome Rock painting kits that you can pick up at the Library and place them in locations for others to find as a welcome to our community gesture.\nParticipants are encouraged to take a picture of their rocks in their garden or community and post them on social media with #WelcomeRocks and #CultureConnect for a chance to win a prize at the end of June.\nBiblio Bingo: Culture Connect Biblio Bingo is a fun way for library patrons to engage in guided learning as you choose your bingo journey from the prompts on the Culture Connect Biblio Bingo card. Some examples include\, watch a movie in a different language\, read an 2SLGBTQ+ story\, read something by an author who identifies as disabled\, etc.\nSpill the Tea: Tea is a drink enjoyed around the globe. Stop by the Library to pick up your take-and-make kit with different types of teas to try and enjoy at home. Visit you local library to see if they have these reads available to borrow. Stay tuned during June\, when fellow community members will champion each book on our YouTube channel. After this\, the voting will commence once again to determine our winner! \nFollowing the premieres of videos\, a weekly bracket vote will commence. Participants will be asked to eliminate a book week by week until we declare a winner during the last week of June. The competition is a great way to get our communities reading and talking about their love of books! \n  \nHow can I engage? \n\nHelp promote and share the competition on your social media channels\nOffer the selected books for borrowing in a special library spot\nInter-library loan the reads to have multiple copies available\nConsider limiting borrowing time to one or two weeks\nKeep a bracket on display tracking the competition results\nParticipate and read the books

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, June 20th at 6 pm at the Renfrew Public Library for a Culture Connect Movie Night! \n  \nRamen Shop (2018) \nRamen Shop follows Masato\, a young ramen chef from Japan\, who embarks on a journey to Singapore after his father’s death\, seeking his mother’s family and the recipes she left behind. Along the way\, he discovers a culinary heritage in Singapore and reconnects with his estranged relatives\, guided by the assistance of food blogger Miki. Through cooking and exploring his mother’s homeland\, Masato not only discovers delicious signature dishes but also finds a path to his grandmother’s heart\, bridging the gap between his Japanese and Singaporean heritage. \nWatch the trailer (English subs) \nSnacks will be provided.
