Visit you local library to see if they have these reads available to borrow. Stay tuned during June\, when fellow community members will champion each book on our YouTube channel. After this\, the voting will commence once again to determine our winner! \nFollowing the premieres of videos\, a weekly bracket vote will commence. Participants will be asked to eliminate a book week by week until we declare a winner during the last week of June. DESCRIPTION:All Grade 6\, 7 and 8 classrooms are invited to participate in a special Culture Connect virtual guest speaker event with Jeff A.D. Martin on Thursday\, June 15\, 9:30 – 11 am.  \nJeff will Zoom into participating classrooms to discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion within our community. He will also speak on the importance of feeling as if we belong to something bigger than ourselves and our social responsibility towards each other. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nThe importance of inclusion\nUnderstand why some feel isolated when in a group\nThe way you see yourself in society versus the way others see you\nWidening your circle of positive influence\nNot letting societal stereotypes stop you\n\nThere will be the opportunity to ask our guest speaker questions you might have on diversity and inclusion during a question and answer period.
