Knowing the importance that agriculture plays in feeding Ontario, many government grants are available.

Running a business, particularly in agriculture, requires a lot of money. Most farms would not be able to run smoothly without some type of subsidy. The equipment, employees, pest control and seed costs are just too high.

 

The hours worked on a farm are also long. According to Statistic Canada, the average farm employee works about 43 hours a week in the agriculture industry. That is high above the national average of 35.8 hours.

 

So knowing the importance that agriculture plays in feeding Ontario, many government grants are available. They may not all apply to your particular business, but they can still be useful.

 

The Federal government has created many funding programs for agriculture, but there are other options.
