Consumer Protection Awareness in Ontario

Join LIP – Lanark & Renfrew, the folks from Consumer Protection Ontario, and the team at the Renfrew Public Library for an informative session on Consumer Protection Rights!

Consumer Protection Ontario is a program through which the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement, known as administrative authorities, promote consumer rights and public safety.​

The ministry and these administrative authorities enforce a number of Ontario’s consumer protection and public safety laws, investigates alleged violations and handle complaints.​

​In this session learn about:

  • Consumer rights and public safety
  • Where to go if you have a complaint or a dispute with a certain type of business
  • Information you need to know when buying products and services in Ontario
  • Examples of questions that you can ask to help you become a smarter consumer

This presentation will be offered in a hybrid format, meaning you can attend in person at the Renfrew Public Library, or virtually.
