Join us for an evening of flavour, culture, and connection as the Local Immigration Partnership – Lanark & Renfrew, in collaboration with the Town of Petawawa and Latino Connection in the Ottawa Valley, presents a special Latin American Cooking Demonstration on Monday, June 9th at 5:30 p.m. at the Petawawa Civic Centre.
As part of Culture Connect, this event celebrates Latin American heritage through the universal language of food. Chilean chef, Alvaro, will guide guests through the preparation of several delicious dishes:
Ceviche
Crostini
Beef Crudo
Alfajores
In addition to the cooking demo, participants will enjoy a short presentation on the history and cultural significance of these dishes in each Latin American country — offering a deeper appreciation for the traditions and stories behind each bite.
This event is free and open to the public (registration required; limited spaces). Whether you’re curious about Latin American cuisine, interested in learning something new, or simply love food and culture, you’re warmly invited to take part.
Latino Connection in the Ottawa Valley is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Latin American culture, fostering community, and supporting the integration of Latinos in the region. Through cultural events, educational programs, and outreach, the organization works to celebrate diversity and build meaningful connections across communities.
