Ontario Provincial Police – Information Session for Newcomers

Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to learn about the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the services they provide.

Join us at the Pembroke Public Library for an informative session by OPP officer Cst. S. Peever where you can ask questions and gain valuable insights into what services are available to help you. Whether you’re new to the area or just curious about law enforcement, this event is perfect for getting to know the OPP better.

In this session:

  • How to identify a police officer
  • Why the police may need to speak to you / attend your residence / stop a motor vehicle
  • Identifying hate crimes and intimate partner violence – seriousness and police response to
  • Mental health supports services – OPP mobile crisis response teams
  • When to call 911 vs non-emergency line
  • Pedestrian and cycling safety
  • Landlord / tenant issues – your rights as a tenant
  • Community supports – warming centre, food banks, soup kitchens, etc
