Point d’Accueil Francohpone
Ā
If French is your primary language, Local Immigration Partnership ā Lanark & Renfrew can support you with some basic francophone resources. Our sister program, PAF: Point d’accueil francophone, offers French-speaking newcomers in the Lanark and Renfrew County area dedicated support by linking newcomers to Francophone services.
Ā
The PAF: Point d’accueil francophone aims to convey its values of integrity, welcome, equity, diversity, inclusiveness, respect, and collaboration throughout all its services. Their mission is to guide and inform Francophone immigrants as well as refer them to services in their preferred language so that they can make informed choices for their successful integration into their local community.
Ā
PAF agents direct clients to services that allow them to best integrate into their new community. They can help find housing, a job, a school, community activities, and furniture and help open a bank account and fill out administrative paperwork.Ā
Ā
They also aim to implement the following five objectives of the Strategic Plan to Foster Immigration to Francophone Minority Communities:
Ā
1. Increase the number of French-speaking immigrants in order to increase the demographic weight of Francophone minority communities (FMCs).
2. Improve the reception capacity of FMCs and strengthen reception and settlement structures for French-speaking newcomers.
3. Ensure the economic integration of French-speaking immigrants into Canadian society and FMCs in particular.
4. Ensure the social and cultural integration of French-speaking immigrants into Canadian society and FMCs.
5. Promote the regionalization of Francophone immigration.
